God started the ministry as a father and son, Roy and Leigh, playing and singing praises in worship at the beginning of a weekly AWANA's program on Sunday evenings in 1996.  In 1999 a church in North Carolina called on Roy to lead worship. He asked his son Leigh to help form a worship team.  They led worship there together for 5 years.

  The team dismantled while Leigh was called away to Liberty University for Biblical Studies.  While there Leigh served as Associate Pastor and Worship Leader in a church in Rustburg, Va. where he was licensed and ordained.  He came back with his wife Jennifer, a music major from Liberty in 2006.

  In the spring of 2007 we conversed and prayed for several weeks as God kept tugging at all of our hearts about getting back together for ministry work.  We always had a heart for all walks of life, both edifying the body and spreading the Gospel of Christ to the world.  We knew God was calling us to something new.  Thats when the Lord called us all into the ministry of using Christian Rock as a way to introduce the Gospel to a lost world. We still and will always consider ourselves intercessor's for all who will hear in hopes that one may come to know Jesus as we do and that is our true vision in ministry.
 
  The group as a praise band had a unique sound.  But we always felt it was lacking by not having a bass player that would drive the music and take us to the next level. As the band and our families prayed for God to put everything back together, even better than before.  He gave us a miracle. Jennifer, while praying for the band felt the Lord call her to play the bass. 

  The band decided to choose the name Steadfast along with the scripture Psalms 57:7(My heart is steadfast, O God, my heart is steadfast; I will sing and give praise).  We felt this was the calling we all have as we strive to be steadfast in our Ministry to the Lord.    

   In 2009 through a preordained meeting the Lord called Justin (a gifted lead guitarist with a heart to serve) to our group. His ambitious spirit has motivated the group to a new level with expectations to what God has planned for Steadfast.

 
  All of our music is scripturally based and will always honor Christ Jesus, our Lord and Savior.  We feel God has called us into service for Him through music and by preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ. God has blessed with a full range of pro audio gear so are able to supply all needs for indoor or outdoor events which gives us the availability to serve any venue that will allow us to share the Gospel through song and word, including special music, revivals, homecomings ,concerts,and whole services with preaching by Leigh Ray.

  We are presently in the process of writing, performing and preparing to record our first project.
