Our Statement of Faith
As followers of Jesus Christ, we have an ideology
on how everything that we believe fits together. This being said, one must look at the foundations
of what Christianity is and what aspects are involved. There are nine points that must be approached in
order to understand a particular set of views on how someone believes. These nine include the Bible, Salvation,
God the Father, Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit, Angels (good and evil), Satan, Heaven, and Hell.
As devote Christians we
believe that the Bible is the inerrant word of God. It is without flaw in its original text and is to be
taken literally and as a whole. 2 Timothy 3:16 is our basis for this belief. The Bible is as applicable
to this age as it was when the books were first put to writing, thus meaning that every rule, law, and command in it applies
to all mankind today.
God
the Father is the Head in the Trinity, with Jesus and the Holy Spirit having equal, but separate roles. The
Father is omniscient and all knowing. Jesus is the intermediary between the Father and man.
He came to earth, born of a virgin, sinless even though tempted as a man, and died on the cross as a sacrifice for
our sins, that we can have eternal life in heaven. The Holy Spirit came to earth to act as proof of Jesus
and to assist in our understanding of God’s Word and our living in His Word.
Salvation is the acceptance
of Jesus Christ into your heart. It is allowing Him to be the guide to which we follow in our lives.
It is an act of giving our lives over to Him and working toward and for His glory. Jesus is the
only way to Salvation. John 14:6 states “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No
one comes to the Father except through Me.
Angels act as servants of God and
as servants of Satan. Heavenly Angels are servants of God and do His will. They are
the guardians of Truth and aid Christians in their work for Jesus. Satanic Angels are followers of Satan
and were cast out with him during his fall from heaven. These angels are out to pull man down and aid in
Satan’s plan to spoil the glorious nature of God in our lives.
Satan was once a head angel in Heaven, but
was cast out due to his wanting to be like God. 1/3 of the angels followed him. He was
the mastermind and initiator of the first sin by Eve in the garden. During the end times, he will make
his presence known and will call himself God, thus fooling many and making one last strike before his demise.
At the end of Armageddon, Satan, as well as his demonic angels will be cast down into Hell along with all those whom
never accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.
Heaven is the residing place of God and His host
of angels. It is described in part in John 14:1-5. As a follower of Jesus Christ, we
are promised a place there when we pass away from this earth. It is a place of ultimate joy and happiness.
There, all that are saved will reside there for eternity.
Hell is the place of eternal torment and suffering. Every
person that does not accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior will inevitably go here for eternity. Satan
and his demons will also be cast here at the end of Armageddon. It is a place where the worm never dies,
a place of the gnashing of teeth. In Revelation, it is referred to as the lake of fire.
We of Steadfast being of one mind and one heart for God believe this statement of faith to be infallible and true. It is the
foundation on which the basis of our music and our message are built upon.
